Like any family, irrespective of background there’s always a key figure that is the binding force – Nani, Teta, Jidda, Bibi. Whatever you affectionately call them, they are truly the pillars of family traditions especially when it comes to cooking.

Our very first inspiration, simmering away over years of spending quality time with the heart and soul of our family – our late ‘Nano’ (maternal grandmother). There are countless fond memories of Nano, which invoke a deep sense of nostalgia. She would toss ingredients into a pot which ended up being the most delectable curries, the thinnest, fluffiest rotis and of course not forgetting the sweet treats. We had the freshest food cooked from scratch everyday (twice a day), because that’s the way we liked it. There was an unmatched extra sprinkle of love and comfort in the food, but for us she was the ultimate definition of pure comfort!

The second major influence in our love for creating delicious food, was binge watching iconic cooking shows of the 90’s – Ready Steady Cook, The Naked Chef & Masterchef, which led to trying out recipes for the family.

Our catering journey began with boosts of encouragement and high praise from family and friends who couldn’t stop raving about the dishes we prepared for gatherings. The overwhelming compliments inspired us to share our passion for food with a wider community, leading to the creation of LIMU. Today, we’re proud to offer the same delicious, heartfelt meals that earned us glowing reviews from the very start.
